We at Norwich Adult Education are extremely proud of our long-standing tradition of serving adults and young adults (age 17 and over, no longer enrolled in school) through our various programs. With support from our local Boards of Education, the CT State Dept. of Education, and various Federal grant sources, we strive to provide classes at times and locations convenient for the adults of Norwich and the surrounding towns that comprise our Regional Adult Education Cooperative.
We offer adult learners three different pathways to complete their high school education – Credit Diploma Program (CDP), GED Diploma Program, and the National External Diploma Program (NEDP). English Language Learners benefit from ESOL classes at their own level, conveniently scheduled mornings, afternoons, or evenings. Citizenship Classes help prepare anyone wishing to become a U.S. Citizen. And adults who need very basic instruction in reading or math benefit from our Adult Basic Education (ABE) program.
Our current location is at 191 Hickory St., Norwich (behind St. Mary’s Church) in the Greeneville neighborhood of Norwich. While we have moved several times over the years, our mission remains the same – to promote learning as a lifelong process and to provide adult learners with the tools necessary to be successful in today’s world.
